# SHEP Essay Prep

## What SHEP Does

SHEP is an essay practice platform for students preparing for the bar exam. Students write full essay responses under timed conditions and receive detailed, rubric-scored feedback within 20 seconds.

The grading rubric is modeled on NCBE grading guidelines and patterns from high-scoring essays. Every submission is evaluated across five dimensions:

| Essay Polish | Would this essay read well to a bar grader spending 60 seconds on it? |

Students see exactly which issues they spotted, which they missed, and what to focus on next. They can practice with built-in prompts across all MEE subjects, upload their own practice questions, or work through targeted repair drills on rules they missed.
